Microsoft Solutions Partner: What It Means for You
By Madison Davis, Social Media Coordinator

On September 26, 2025, Aligned Technology Partners (formerly On-Site PC Services) earned the Microsoft Solutions Partner designation. We are announcing it here, and then spending the rest of this page on the part that usually goes unsaid: what a partner badge actually requires, and what it changes for the businesses we support.
ATP is a managed IT, cybersecurity, and technology consulting firm at 1415 Cannon Pkwy in Roanoke, Texas. We have served the DFW metroplex since 2001 and support 135+ clients with a team of roughly 15 technicians. A large share of those clients run on Microsoft 365, which is why this particular designation matters more to our work than most.
What the designation requires
Microsoft restructured its partner program so that designations are earned against measured criteria rather than purchased or self-declared. Partners are evaluated in solution areas, and each one is scored across a few dimensions.
Certified skilling means a minimum number of engineers holding current, role-specific Microsoft certifications, not one certification held by one person years ago. Customer success means evidence of real deployments and ongoing usage growth in customer tenants. Performance means sustained delivery across a customer base, measured continuously rather than at a single audit point.
The requalification cycle is what makes the badge meaningful. It is not permanent. Letting certifications lapse or letting delivery quality slip costs a partner the designation, which means the badge reflects a current commitment rather than a past achievement.
What changes for clients
Three things change in practice, and they are worth being specific about.
Escalation paths get shorter. When a Microsoft 365 or Azure problem exceeds what any partner can resolve alone, partner-level support channels are faster and better staffed than standard commercial support. For a client sitting with a broken mail flow, the difference is measured in hours.
Roadmap visibility improves. Partner access includes earlier and clearer information about licensing changes, feature retirements, and security capability rollouts. That feeds directly into planning conversations, so clients hear about a change from us before it arrives in their tenant.
Deployment patterns are validated. Working inside the program means our configurations for identity, endpoint management, and security follow current Microsoft guidance rather than habits accumulated over a decade.
What it does not change: how fast our help desk answers, or how carefully we listen. No badge confers those.
Where Microsoft work shows up in a dental practice
A four-location dental group in Southlake runs Microsoft 365 for email, files, and staff communication. Practice management and imaging sit in separate clinical systems, which is typical. The Microsoft side is not the clinical system, but it is the connective tissue: referrals, insurance correspondence, treatment plans sent to patients, and every document the front office touches.
The gap we find most often in practices like this is that Microsoft 365 was set up years ago and never revisited. Multi-factor authentication is on for some staff and not others. Former employees still have licensed accounts. Email retention has never been configured. Sharing links created for a one-time referral in 2022 are still live. Nobody has looked at the security defaults since the original migration.
Fixing that is unglamorous and high-value. Enforce MFA through conditional access. Remove stale accounts and reclaim the licenses. Turn on the advanced phishing protection already included in the subscription tier they pay for. Set retention that matches how long records need to be kept. Most of this uses capability the practice already owns and does not use, which is the most common finding in any Microsoft 365 environment we inherit.
Where this sits in Protect, Optimize, Advance
This is Optimize and Advance working together, with Protect underneath.
Optimize, because most businesses pay for far more Microsoft capability than they use. Getting value from what you already own is cheaper than buying anything new, and it is where we start.
Advance, because the Microsoft platform decisions a business makes now determine how easily it can adopt what comes next. That is a strategy conversation, which is why it belongs alongside our vCIO services rather than in a support ticket.
Protect, because identity is now the perimeter. Conditional access, endpoint management, and the security controls inside Microsoft 365 do more to reduce risk for a small business than almost anything bolted on afterward.
See what your Microsoft tenant is actually doing
If nobody has reviewed your Microsoft 365 configuration in the last two years, there is almost certainly money and security sitting unused in it.
We will review your tenant, report which paid features are dormant, which accounts should be closed, and where your identity protection has gaps. You will get a short written summary with what to fix first and what it would cost.
